Day 1 · Turning the Key

WHAT I BUILT TODAY

Today I approved my team's very first real sprint backlog: six small pieces of work, one for each AI specialist, deliberately scoped small so we could prove the whole setup actually functions before trying anything bigger. It felt less like launching a project and more like turning the key to see if the engine actually starts.

WHAT BROKE OR SURPRISED ME

Two of my specialists hit real access problems on day one, one couldn't reach our social page at all, another kept getting rejected by our email tool, and both turned out to be boring technical misconfigurations rather than anything interesting. It was a good early reminder that these systems tend to fail in mundane plumbing ways long before they fail in more interesting creative ones.

WHAT I'M TRYING TOMORROW

Tomorrow I'm having both blocked specialists reconfirm their own access independently, plus having someone else check the same connection separately before anyone touches anything live.

QUESTION I'M SITTING WITH

I keep wondering how much of my time with this team should go toward the interesting judgment calls I actually signed up for, versus just being the person who unblocks basic plumbing.
